Our Pastor and Founder, Rev. Jerry L. Edwards, Sr. loves serving God in Spirit and in Truth. Rev. Edwards is married to his lovely wife Evelina Edwards and they have eight wonderful children together. Pastor Edwards graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Carver Bible College, Atlanta, Georgia. His favorite scripture is found in the book of Philippians 4:13; “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Two of his favorite songs are “Trouble in My Way” and “Can’t Nobody Do me Like Jesus”.
The History of the Church
Minister Jerry L. Edwards, Sr. was licensed to “Preach the Gospel,” on June 12, 2005 and ordained on July 30, 2006. Minister Edwards immediately went to work to fulfill his calling by starting a Bible Study in his home with family and friends. During, the summer of 2014, the Bible Study was moved to the “Piccadilly Restaurant on Godby Road in Atlanta, Georgia. Due to the large amount of attendees, Minister Edwards relocated the Bible Study to the home of Evangelist Gloria Gregory where these prayer warriors met faithfully every Wednesday night to study God’s word.
On March 3, 2015, under the leadership of Minister Jerry L. Edwards Sr., and after many months of prayer with God, family and members, he began to organize a church. After much deliberation, the name chosen to adorn the church was “True Worshipers Ministries (TWM) with the church motto as: “Worshiping through Spirit and Truth,” John 4:24. On April 7, 2015, Minister Jerry L. Edwards Sr., was appointed Pastor of True Worshipers Ministries.
The officers appointed were Reverend Charles Tarver-Chairman of the Trustee Board, Evangelist Gloria Gregory-Treasurer, Sister Tryann Hill-Financial Secretary, and Sister Jackie Thompson-Secretary, Prophetess Faye Mills and Evangelist Amanda Harris-Trustee Board members.
On May 3, 2015, True Worshipers Ministries held its first full service at 119 Rainbow Way, Fayetteville, Georgia. During the first service, members prayed and thanked God for all that He had done to get us on our way. The first sermon preached by Pastor Edwards was “The Precious Blood of Jesus.” This was the start of many heartfelt sermons and activities at “True Worshipers Ministries.”
On September 15, 2015, “True Worshipers Ministries” adopted its church constitution and bylaws. On March 2, 2016, True Worshipers Ministries became incorporated and received its 501c (3), Federal ID.
Prayerfully and by the grace of God, “True Worshipers Ministries,” on May 22, 2016, celebrated its First Church Anniversary at 119 Rainbow Way, Fayetteville, Georgia. With the continued Grace and Prayer, “True Worshipers Ministries relocated to its current location of 139 Rainbow Way, Fayetteville, Georgia.
